HOW YOU CAN HELP

SHOP DONATIONS

We are always grateful for donations of good quality clothes, shoes and accessories to sell in our pre-loved clothes shop. By accessories we mean bags, belts, scarves (woolly and otherwise), gloves, hats (not formal hats) and jewellery (earrings must be unworn). Any items that we are unable to sell are recycled via a third party.

As we sell pre-loved clothes, shoes and accessories only, we are unable to take donations of bric-a-brac, books, cds, baby equipment, electrical items to sell.

We also support a charity in Leicester called Open Hands, and act as a collection point for donations for them, in particular bedding, towels, household items and sleeping bags.  All items must be new or as-new and fully laundered (if applicable).  Check out their website for their current needs: Donate – Open Hands (openhandsleicester.org.uk) If you have large items or quantities to donate, please make arrangements directly with Open Hands e.g. furniture, white goods and TVs. N.B. due to us having very limited storage space we may not always be able to take donations for Open Hands.  We would advise you contact us advance to check before visiting us.

Donations can be dropped off to us during our normal opening hours.  Please do not leave items on the pavement as they risk being taken or damaged.

BECOME A VOLUNTEER

The Well relies on a strong team of some eighty volunteers who run the café, shop, foodbank and support services, keep the garden looking beautiful, and maintain the building.

They also run the group sessions that take place in The Well, fulfil prayer requests in the Sanctuary, chat to visitors, rush to the Co-op when we run out of milk, and a thousand other jobs small and large.
